Empowering Young Women Through Tech – 2023 Northern Women in Technology (N-WIT) Program

The 2023 edition of the Northern Women in Technology (N-WIT) program was a powerful step toward bridging the digital divide and increasing the representation of young women in the tech space. In this edition, we successfully trained 30 young women from across the Upper East Region of Ghana, equipping them with practical ICT skills to thrive in the digital age.

Participants were introduced to core areas such as Microsoft Office applications, internet and email use, digital safety, and an introduction to coding. For many, it was their first formal exposure to computer technology, and their transformation over the course of the training was remarkable.

Beyond technical training, the program incorporated career talks, mentorship sessions, and confidence-building activities. These young women left with not just new skills but new aspirations — many expressing interest in pursuing further training in ICT or launching digital-based businesses.

The N-WIT 2023 program reaffirmed our belief that when you empower a girl with technology, you unlock a future full of potential. We are incredibly proud of this cohort and look forward to supporting them further in their tech journey.
